As every webmaster will know its very important to concentrate on building your backlinks. This can however be a very hard process if you don't know what you are doing. Everyone's always talking about creating relevant backlinks and backlinks from websites that have a high Google page rank.
What is the need for high page rank backlinks?
Google awards websites page rank for many reasons. The main reason is due to the contents that the website holds and the amount of backlinks it's. A website that has been awarded a high page rank from Google shows its authority on the web. So a website with a page rank associated with 5 has more expert then a website with a page ranking of 3.
If a link to your website is from a high page rank origin than the will give the backlink much more authority and will be classed like a strong link by Google. So having 5 links from websites of a page rank 5 is better then Ten links from websites which have no page rank. This doesn't mean that they don't count; they do but they are not strong.
The myths about backlinks Myth 1
Among the misunderstandings by webmasters is that if you get backlinks from non relevant websites Google will not depend these links or Google will penalize you.
Sure its good to have related backlinks and Google promote this however non relevant backlinks also depend. An example that I can give you is as simple as going to Google and inputting in the words 'miserable failure' you will notice that the actual white house biography for George Bush ranks very high. The reason this happened was due to the amount of backlinks pointing to this using the words miserable failure. 90% of the backlinks came from non relevant sites. Google uses an internet based programme to rank websites through examining the number and family member popularity of links. The conclusion I've come to is that you will need a few relative backlinks however don't miss out on the high page rank backlinks because they are not relevant.
If for example a person was writing an article concerning backlinks and you add a link to your website that provides free beauty products, for instance, then don't think that the backlink will not count.
Myth Two
If you leave your hyperlink on an "inner page" that has a low or 0 page rank inside of a high page rank domain this will include no value to your site or is no good.
Again this is false. I found out this information just a little whilst back from an educated lady known as Angela. One of Angela's key focuses is on backlinks. To show this statement was a myth she advised us to visit google and type in the word backlinks. You will notice that on page 1 of the Google search results there is an article through go articles which was written by her. She only utilized backlinks from inner pages associated with authority sites that had absolutely no page rank on the actual web page.
Myth 3
If you build more then 2 backlinks each day, you will be penalised by Google. This is also a false statement. Just think about it this way. If you published a really interesting article on your site regarding information about the MI5 for instance which was top secret and no other person knew. How many sites do you think will link back to you? Within the hundreds and thousands I would presume. Many of these links being of no relevance. Google understand this plus they know that webmasters can not control who links back to them.
We are always told to have excellent content on our sites. If we do this then hundreds of websites will link back to you. As mentioned Google understand this. The only way I can see a website being penalised is that if they made hundreds of backlinks a day through relevant websites as this might look like you have used some kind of backlink farm.
