Business efforts may possibly operate using various machines, marketing and promotional campaign, work ethics, leadership styles, salary leveling, and among others but each of them is geared and oriented towards one common goal - to raise profits and decrease expenditures.

Among the principles successful companies employ is consumption of sustainable means in every single transaction that they carry out and in the daily ordinary operations implemented as austerity measures, such as observing the daylight saving time, recycling, reusing and going 'green,' and among others. Among the most feasible, most realistic, and most attainable measures that big businesses and even government sectors implement are recycling and reusing.

In the Philippines and in Canada, beer brewing and soda companies still maintain long-held traditions and practices -bottles and plastic crates or cases still follow one path from manufacturer to consumers and back, that is beer containers are returned by customers or being collected by beer companies for reuse. Before they are finally melted, crushed and recycled for another purpose, some bottles are resued up to 15 times. Such system is highly efficient with a bottle recovery of up to 97 percent - a feat owed from the environmentally conscious public and also from the tireless efforts of such companies in inculcating such tradition into their system as a normal way of life for the consuming public.

What are the advantages of recycling? Recycling or reusing is not just intended for safeguarding Mother Nature but more so in keeping a business entity survive amidst the harsh economic situation. Recycling saves manpower. It keeps businesses from additional job descriptions, such as a purchasing officer or a warehouseman in-charge of making purchases, inventory and storage of goods, equipment and among others, since there is no need for frequent purchases. Also, it keeps a company safe from costs because of the damage of certain items due to prolonged storage or misuse.

Recycling on the level of the company on its own saves a big sum of money. Instead of throwing items or sending them to recycling camps of other entities, recycling or reusing occurs within the confines of the company itself. Using sustainable and reusable materials are the best options since not all can afford or have the ingenuity to innovate and make someting out of a heap of garbage.

Reusable items are employed for longer life, instead of using disposables thereby increasing return and decreasing the demand for raw materials hence conserving resources. Reusing resources also cuts energy requirement, reduces pollution, and most importantly, protects nature.

Packaging materials, for example, like containers, boxes, and among others need not be designed ostentatiously so long as they serve the purpose effectively. Using reusable materials will save them a considerable amount of money instead of using the single-use types that are disposed thereafter since shipping companies and freight forwarders repeatedly conduct such transactions using similar shipping materials.

Author Resource:- Using plastic bulk containers is one of the sustainable and cost-effective measures, which can be employed by shippers and shipping companies. Intermediate bulk containers are tested by time and nature to safeguard shipments until they arrive at their destination points as they are sturdy, durable, and made for repeated use.
