When we live we are always forming memories. They may be good memories, or they may be bad memories. Which way the memories go is our choice. The buck must stop with us in order for us to have anything that verges on control of our lives. One of the ways that we make good memories is by the career that we pick. If you decide to not believe in yourself, you'll have a job that's not one that you deserve. You'll come home every day complaining about how you hate the people there, and how hate what you're doing and how you never want to go back. Sundays will always be dreaded because they lead to Mondays. That's no way to live, so a job that you love is critical. But good memories don't just start with a job, good memories really start with your home life. Not everyone comes from a good family home, but everyone can make decisions as an adult to get counseling get on the right track and start those good memories. One of the things that can help to start forming good memories is to get an animal.

When looking at getting an animal you have several things to consider, including if you like dogs, cats, fish, birds and the list goes on. You have to take an honest look at what you have time for and what you like. For example if you are always on the road, a turtle is a better pick than a dog or a cat. Through some lettuce in and change the water and it's happy. If you hate cats, and would like to drop kick them over the roof, that's not going to be productive for good solid memories, the same is true for a dog. We're looking for building happy memories, not bad ones. Once you've made the decision on what type of pet you're looking for, then comes the decision on breeds and so forth (not for discussion here).

Now you've got your pet and it's home. Start building your memories at once. Bring out your camera, take pictures of the pet with your child. Get down on his (or her) level and start helping them to feel comfortable in there new home. Make sure that you have stuffed animal that they will know are theirs. As the memories start to form, you'll remember things like dog trying to catch the snow when it falls. Or the kitten trying to catch the invisible dust monsters. Happy memories of days with your pets, are some of the things that your life beautiful and give you tons of wonderful memories. They are also what helps you when something bad happens.
